Our Team

Julie Amy
CEO, Executive Director
That’s the most popular question that I hear from the kids at FKS. It’s important to them to know who is at the top of the hierarchy, but they are often taken by surprise by the answer. My answer to them…“No, I’m not the principal…I’m a teacher who has some other jobs to do too.” While I did create the policies, program descriptions, and handbooks, and I did secure a space for us to work out of, I still see myself as one of the teachers. FKS has a very talented staff that depends on each other’s strengths to make a well-rounded team. These professionals not only care for each child as an individual, but they can also explain our programs, share our philosophy of caring for the whole family, and welcome friends into our safe and loving environment that we all work hard to make fun and educational.
megan sisan
General Manager
Hello! My name is Megan, and I’m proud to serve as the General Manager here at FKS. I was born and raised in our neighboring town, Howell, and I’ve been with my high school sweetheart for over 10 years—we’ve been happily married for 4. We are fortunate enough to have a beautiful daughter, and being both a team member and a parent at FKS has given me a unique and meaningful perspective.
I began my journey with FKS in 2023 as a classroom teacher, driven by a deep passion for early childhood education. Over time, that passion naturally expanded into a love for leadership and administration. Today, I’m dedicated to ensuring that our core values are lived out in every classroom, every day.
As both a leader and a parent within this community, I understand how important it is to create an environment where children thrive and parents feel confident and supported. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is building trusting relationships with our families—knowing they feel seen, heard, and cared for is something I cherish deeply.
Amanda Hall
Infant/Toddler Co-Director & Lead Infant Teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Amanda, and I’m the Co-Director at FKS. I live in Howell with my husband and our three children, ages 18, 12, and 7. I’ve always felt like working with children is where I belong, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to partner with so many families in the community to teach, support, and love the little humans that they share with us. I want parents to remember me as someone who loved their child(ren) unconditionally, celebrated their growth and learning with them, as well as supported them through the challenges. I have been part of FKS for 20 years and hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. While I’ve worked with all age groups, the Infant/Toddler class has been the heart of my career. My passion is supporting children’s growth, celebrating their achievements, and helping them through challenges with care and dedication.

I want to be a teacher they were able to trust dropping their child off to and was always open to any needs they had. I have over 20 years of experience in child care, including 16 years at my previous center. I studied Early Childhood Education at WCC with a specialization in infants and toddlers, and later transferred to Madonna University to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood. Melissa Steel

Hello! My name is Ms. Melissa. I’m a wife, a mother of 2 amazing sons, and a stepmom to a beautiful daughter. I have many years of experience in childcare and I look forward to many more years of continuous learning in child development. I worked for a funeral home for 9 years. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I’ve lived in Pinckney my whole life! I want parents to remember me as a caring and loving teacher who enjoys teaching in fun ways! My passion for caregiving began early—I started babysitting at the age of 10 and became a nanny by the time I was 20. Over the years, I’ve held various roles focused on caring for people of all ages, each one reinforcing my commitment to helping others. Now, at FKS, I have the privilege of caring for children every day. It’s truly where I feel I belong, and I’m grateful to be doing work that brings me so much purpose and joy.
Michelle Colvia
Infant/Toddler Co-Director & Lead Toddler Teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Michelle. I have worked at FKS for 16 years and have worked with every age group from infant through school age. I am currently enrolled at WCC, pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education to support my years of experience. I have a degree in Nursing and I manage the medications and allergy plans in the building as well as, most other things related to Health safety. A child’s brain develops connections faster in the first 5 years than at any other time in their life and I am so glad to be a part of this growth every day. I want parents to remember me as someone who encourages their child’s learning and supports their BIG 2-year-old emotions. I am also the Lead Toddler 2 Teacher and Healthcare Coordinator here at FKS. This is my last semester at WCC, and I’m excited to be graduating in December!

Hollie Nowak
Lead Young toddler teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Hollie. I’ve been a proud member of the FKS family for over two years now. I’ve been happily married for 20 years, and we have two wonderful adult sons. One is planning a wedding in the near future, and the other has a beautiful daughter with his girlfriend — which makes me a very proud Lollie (grandma)! I began my career working with children as a nanny at just 15 years old. Over the years, I explored a few different paths, but spent the majority of my career — 15 years — as an Assistant Manager at Old Navy. While I gained valuable experience there, my heart has always been with children. Returning to this field has been incredibly fulfilling, and having the opportunity to be part of children’s growth and development — especially my own granddaughter’s — is truly rewarding.

Isabella Revitzer
Lead Toddler teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Bella. I’m 23 years old and a proud mom to a 1½-year-old daughter, Danielle with my boyfriend Bryce. Family is a core part of my life and values. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors soaking up the sunshine, and I also have a passion for shopping. I grew up helping care for my younger siblings and cousins, which sparked my interest in working with children from an early age. At 16, I began my first nannying job and later explored other fields, gaining over two years of experience in the restaurant industry after graduating high school in 2020. While I enjoyed that work, I discovered my true passion lies in supporting and teaching young children. For the past two years, I have been part of FKS, where I’ve had the privilege of growing both personally and professionally. During this time, my own daughter has joined the program, giving me valuable insight and a deeper understanding of the parent’s perspective.

Emily brewer
Assistant Preschool Teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Emily. I’m so excited to be working as an Assistant Teacher at For Kids’ Sake! I was born in Arizona and moved here with my family when I was nine; both of my parents grew up in Michigan. I’m a junior at Pinckney, and I play on the Varsity Girls Tennis and I also run the social media for our boys’ team! I am super involved in other school clubs and classes, but working here has by far been the most enjoyable thing I do! Seeing the kids’ personalities and watching them grow in the short time I’ve been here has been so fulfilling and has brought me so much joy! I have been babysitting for about seven years, but I have been involved in the church nursery and been around young kids my entire life! Working with kids is one of my favorite things to d,o and I hope to continue to do so in the medical field when I’m older! I’ve been a part of FKS for just a short amount of time, and I am excited to continue to do so!
Elizabeth Barrow
Assistant Preschool Teacher
Hi! I’m Ms. Elizabeth. I’m newer to the Pinckney area so I’m still learning my way around. I enjoy going fishing, spending time with family, and playing with my dogs. I’m the oldest of close to 18 siblings (half and step), so I’ve been taking care of children my whole life. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher; I would spend my summers “teaching” my younger siblings’ classes. Besides helping take care of younger siblings growing up, I have worked in 2 other centers. After my second center, I took a step back and became a nanny to a loving family. I have helped children make friends, learn how to stand up for themselves, and reach their milestones.
