Playgrounds

We know that outdoor play is an integral part of the learning process for every child. That is one reason why children in our care go outside every day! At for Kid’s Sake, we are proactive in making sure that the children are safe while exploring outside. Upon hire, all of our teachers are trained in playground safety. Our administration team also conducts frequent outdoor observations to ensure that our teachers are doing everything they can to make the outdoors a safe place for the children. In addition, every morning our lead teachers survey the playground for debris and hazardous material that could have found its way onto our playground overnight.

If you are not a current member of our family you may not enter our facility without an interview and an appointment. That’s right! Only enrolled families have access to our buildings. This ensures that we know at all times who is in our centers.

Drills

For Kid’s Sake conducts regular Fire Drills, Tornado Drills, Bomb threat Drills, and Crisis Action Plan drills.

Extensive Background Checks on All Employees

Before a teacher begins their employment with us they undergo a Michigan State Police Background Check, a Department of Human Services check, a Physical, and a TB test.

Strict Identification Procedures

Upon enrollment, you will complete an Emergency Card for your child. On that card, you list individuals who are permitted to pick up your child. If somebody other than you comes to pick up, we check their identification against the emergency card to ensure that they are authorized to pick up.

We know we have Everyone

We have found the easiest way to maintain attendance in our classrooms is to do a name-to-face check before transitioning from one place to the next. What does that mean exactly? It’s time to go outside so all the children are up at the door. The teacher takes the attendance sheet and visually checks that the child’s name that is on the list is in fact in line. We are ensuring that each child is ready and with us to go outside.

Teachers are Certified in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen

Every year, teachers and directors come together for an extensive training session on First Aid, CPR, and Blood Borne Pathogen. Teachers are equipped with the necessary skills and tools to perform safety measures should an emergency arise.

Mission Statement

For Kid’s Sake Early Learning Center is an educational childcare environment that partners with working families.  We believe every child deserves the chance to participate, learn & grow in a high-quality, loving & exciting environment. In this community, parents will be encouraged and supported in celebrating the milestones of their children while developing relationships that last a lifetime.

Background

For Kid’s Sake Early Learning Center was formed because of the growing need for infant, toddler, and preschool early education in the Livingston County area. For Kid’s Sake is licensed for 42 children. The director is on-site daily to provide guidance and supervision for the teachers and as a resource for families as well.

Culture

Going forward, For Kids Sake will grow to triple its square footage. This expansion to our environments will support a larger variety of safe, healthy, high-quality materials including updated technology and equipment. We will thrilled to loosen the reigns of our waiting list to allow more families to be connected to our exclusive community. Additionally, children will be able to participate in year-round extracurriculars such as dance, karate, yoga & gymnastics.

Philosophy

FKS Believes in a play-based learning environment and it uses Creative Curriculum as the program that supports its efforts. Learning in our space and using these resources encourages both child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. The role of a teacher is to provide developmentally appropriate programming, assess growth, support, educate & communicate with parents. Their role also includes ensuring that the children’s learning environment is clean, safe, and stimulating
